Greetings, One and All!

   I have opened this new blog just for my poetry.  I was writing on Hub Pages, but some of you may be aware of certain limitations, such as a required minimum length for posts.  This does not work for poems, as many are quite short, as defined by their style, such as cinquains or limericks.  This caused innumerable problems with having to invent filler text, or add photos.  Since most of the time, I have no photos that match my poems, it was the filler text that went in.

   The next problem was the formatting.  I often play with the visual layout of the poetry on the page.  Hub Pages made this very difficult, and if you had to go back and edit anything for any reason,  all of the careful formatting was lost, as the editing screen auto-slammed all text up against the left margin, and eliminated additional line breaks.  Without knowing a lot of html coding to get around this, it was a real pain in the nuisance!

   So, here I am, back on Blogger, with now a fifth blog...where I can compose what I want with no one dictating how long it should be in order to satisfy their 'ad servers,' another issue I had with them.  Bye bye, Hub Pages...it was an interesting experiement!
